Pete Drummond is an Australian Session Drummer, Composer & Multi-
Instrumentalist. He is also a passionate Drum Educator, Drum Teacher and has developed a unique drum lesson (Drum DNA.com) that aims to revolutionise the way drumming is taught on digital platforms. He has performed alongside Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang, Mike Mangini & Dave Weckl at drumming festivals and events.
Pete tours extensively year-round, performing at major music festivals and venues throughout Australia & internationally, and in 2008 was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame as a member of legendary Australian Pop/Rock band Dragon (whose ARIA number 1 & top 10 hits include, April Sun in Cuba, Are You Old Enough & Rain).
Pete has played on countless recordings and performed live with a multitude of artists including: Joan Rivers (USA), The Temptations (USA), Wendy Matthews, Thirsty Merc, Choirboys, Lee Kernaghan, Adam Brand, Shannon Noll, Ross Wilson, Eurogliders, Jon Stevens, Rikki Lee, Richard Clapton, Kasey Chambers, Tommy Emmanuel, Slim Dusty, Christine Anu, Glenn Shorrock (Little River Band), Sarah McLeod. Pete has also opened for Toto, Bryan Adams, Simply Red, Roxette and shared billing alongside Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham and many others. Pete has also played on Jingle, Ads & Film soundtracks (in. Sacha Barren-Cohn’s Bruno)
As a composer for TV & Film Pete’s music has aired in over 40 countries. He is best known for his work on major network documentaries such as The Killing Season (ABC), Living Universe (feature film), Search For Second Earth (ABC/BBC), Crude (feature/ABC/Curiosity), Australia: A Time Traveller’s Guide (ABC), A Traveller’s Guide To The Planets (NatGeo), Life On Us (SBS/BBC), Wildfire (SBS/BBC) and 10 Bucks a Litre (ABC). His writing spans the gamut of musical genres; from Epic Cinematic Cues to Sound Design and everything in between.
Pete has had a successful Songwriting career as one of the primary writers for Dragon since 2010. His songs have been used for sync on Ads for TV & Digital Marketing, and have been included on various album releases. In 2007 Pete released his critically acclaimed instrumental Jazz/Fusion/Prog record entitled ‘Identity Crisis’, featuring nine original compositions and includes incredible performances by Steve Weingart (Dave Weckl), Jeremy Barnes (World’s Fastest Guitarist) and James Muller (James Morrison).
Pete has been featured in Drumscene and other music magazines magazine several times and appears on the Hudson Music’s ‘The Ultimate Drummer’s Weekend’ DVDs: TUDW 2003 (with Dom and Friends) & TUDW 2004 (Featured Cover Artist).
